Advanced Surgical Assistant

Certified Surgical Assistants provide that second pair of hands needed in surgery to assure patient safety and efficiency. The CSA credential assures the patient, surgeon, and hospital that a professional with highly honed skills at the advanced level will be assisting in the surgery.
The School for Allied Healthcare Professionals boasts a 100% pass percentage on the National CSA credential examination.

Dr. Seligman graduated with honors from Texas A&M University and the University of Texas Medical School at Galveston, where he also completed his residency. He partnered with Dr. Pickel in 1983. Dr. Seligman specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Seligman has become well-known in the field of infertility as he has assisted hundreds of couples through the past 20 years in achieving their dream of having a child.

Originally from Richardson, TX, Dr. Mobarak earned his bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in 1998, majoring in Biochemistry and graduating with honors. He earned his doctorate degree in Podiatric Medicine from Barry University School Podiatric Medicine in 2002.

The Texas State Board of Medical Examiners licensed Dr. Mobarak in 2002. He completed a surgical residency at the Central Alabama Health Care System in 2002, where he served as chief resident his final year in Montgomery, Alabama.

Dr. Mobarak is also a member of the Texas Podiatric Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, American Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Association of Podiatric Association.

Dr. Mobarak enjoys lecturing to the medical community on several subjects including: Podiatric Sports Medicine, Trauma, Evaluation of the Diabetic Foot, Foot/Ankle Surgery, and Advanced Wound Care. He is also published articles on several subjects, primarily wound care in various podiatric medical and surgical newsletters and journals.

Dr. Mobarak specializes in wound care, podiatric sports medicine, as well as foot/ankle trauma. He is also in the process of developing a limb salvage program at the North Texas VA.

In his leisure time, Dr. Mobarak enjoys lecturing, golfing, bodybuilding, and spending time with his family. He is fluent in both English and Farsi.

Dr. Pickel is a fellow in the American College of Ob/GYN a member of the Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists, the Tarrant County Medical Society and the American Medical Society. An active member of the Arlington community, Dr. Pickel served as a former chief of staff at Medical Center of Arlington, as well as a past trustee on the board, and has been instrumental in the development of the medical community in the southern region of the Arlington/Mansfield corridor.

Originally form Indiana, Dr. Pickel is married and is the father of four children.
He and his family reside on a ranch south of Mansfield where he enjoys ranching and gardening.

Dr. Patrick Collini grew up in Irving. After graduation from the University of Houston he attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Collini completed an internship in general surgery at the University of Kentucky where he also finished his urologic surgery residency.

Dr. Collini is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He has been in practice in Mansfield and Arlington since 1997. He joined Urology Associates of North Texas in the summer of 2000. Dr. Collini is a member of Tarrant County Medical Society. His wife, Dr. Wendy Collini, is in private practice in internal medicine in Mansfield. Drs. Dr. Janis Cornwell is a founding member of MATLOCK OB/GYN ASSOC. and is the only female to have continuously practiced obstetrics and gynecology since 1986 in Arlington, Texas.

She grew up in rural Louisiana near the small town of Jena and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (formerly known as Northeast Louisiana University,). In 1978, she obtained a Masters Degree in Biology, also from ULM. That same year she entered medical school at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, and received her doctorate of medicine from there in 1982.

Dr. Cornwell furthered her education in a four year OB/GYN residency program through charity hospital of Louisiana in New Orleans (LSU Division). Her training involved 6 months rotation through Earl K Long Memorial Hospital in Baton Rouge, University Medical Center in Lafayette and Walter O. Moss Regional Hospital in Lake Charles.

In 1982, Dr Cornwell met “the love of her life” and she and Bill were married in 1984. They moved to Arlington, Texas in 1986 where Janis started her solo ob-gyn practice and welcomed their son Daniel in 1989.

Dr. Cornwell has served at the Medical Center of Arlington as the chairperson for the Surgery and Tissue Committee (1989-91) and the chairperson for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (1995-97). In 1996, she was awarded the Frances Thorns Hammie Memorial Award for detection of breast cancer. She belongs to the Arlington Medical Society, Tarrant County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association, and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists. She was most recently invited to serve in Washington D.C. in the fall of 2004 for tort reform. Dr. Cornwell is board certified in her field and has maintained certification since initial eligibility in 1988.
